- The Office of Vital Records of Chile commissions the Print and Minting House to manufacture license plates for motorized vehicles.
These plates, as they are official public objects, must have the necessary security measures to guarantee their authenticity. The Chilean government requests that the license plates that are issued be unique and that they are used for only one vehicle during their lifetime.At the moment, the Chilean Print and Minting House uses machines with the latest technology to stamp the new license plates that entered into circulation on 09/01/2007, in order to deliver the highest quality product possible. The manufacturing of public license plates is done using the same procedure. These license plates include those of the Police Department, Fire Department, City Governments, and Public Transportation Ministries
